Web Technology

This is a hands-on course designed to meet the real needs of the computing industry. You will use a mix of open source and commercial software used in industry, so the skills you develop on the course can be applied immediately. Studying both the practice and theory of developing web-based software, you will become well versed in the C#, HTML, JavaScript, PHP and SQL languages, and develop a working knowledge of several others. As well as computer programming, you will study broader aspects of software development, such as the specification and design of computer systems, and legal and ethical issues. Additionally, you may choose to explore related topics such as computer networking, security and usable design. You will explore areas including: • web programming and development • software engineering • current issues in web technology
