Sport Science at Brunel is ranked second in London (The Complete University Guide 2018) and in the World Top 100 for Sports Subjects (QS Top Universities 2017). Sport development is a term used to describe a range of policy, organisational, and management processes relating to the wider field of sport, from grassroots to elite levels. As a sport development student you will study a diverse range of topics – including sociology, management, anthropology, law, media, marketing and policy – producing portfolios, sport programme design and evaluation proposals, research posters, videos and case studies relevant to different sport development contexts and practices. At Brunel we have some of the best university sports facilities in the UK. We have an international reputation for sporting excellence – some of the world’s top athletes come to train on our campus. Our world-class sporting facilities include a running track used by Usain Bolt, who told the BBC: “Brunel is awesome! We come here every summer and they really show us a lot of love”. The facilities include an Indoor Athletic Centre with international standard 400m six-lane running track; a Sports Centre with squash, basketball and netball courts and climbing wall; and outdoor all- weather pitches and tennis courts. We also have great links with sporting bodies and companies with our academics leading the way in generating new knowledge in Sports Sciences.
