About our course Studying the societies and events of the past will allow you to look at the modern world from a new perspective. You’ll compare and contrast the past and the present and understand their connection better. Our History courses focus on Britain, Europe and the wider world in the modern period. You’ll look closely at life as it was lived in the past, observing differences, similarities and connections with the present day. History is about building your understanding in what it means to be human. As you study, you’ll develop your skills in recovering and interpreting historical evidence, formulating arguments and developing your own historical perspectives.
