This course will equip you with the core theoretical and practical skills necessary to understand and analyse economic and corporate financing and investment decisions in the business world. It prepares you for a range of careers including management consultancy, business analysis and economic forecasting. Your studies will include a module on econometrics to help you to develop the data modelling skills using computer programmes – a skill highly valued by finance and investment employers. If you decide to study professional accountancy after you graduate, our degrees offer some exemptions to ACCA and CIMA papers. As part of your studies, you also get training and access to industry analytical tools including SAS, Eviews, Bloomberg, Reuters and STATA. On a four year thick sandwich degree you will typically spend the whole of Year 3 on placement. Economics at Brunel is ranked 57th in UK and 9th in London (The Complete University Guide 2018).
