On this programme you’ll study the fundamental analytical techniques of micro and macroeconomics while also developing knowledge and understanding of the core concepts and issues in financial and management accounting. When you graduate, you’ll be equipped with the theoretical and practical skills necessary to understand and analyse economic and accounting issues in the business world, preparing you for careers in management consultancy, accountancy and banking. Your studies will include a module on econometrics to help you to develop the data modelling skills using computer programmes – a skill highly valued by finance and investment employers. If you decide to study professional accountancy after you graduate, our degrees offer some exemptions to ACCA and CIMA papers. As part of your studies, you also get training and access to industry analytical tools including SAS, Eviews, Bloomberg, Reuters and STATA. On a four year thick sandwich degree you will typically spend the whole of Year 3 on placement. Economics at Brunel is ranked 63rd in UK and 8th in London (The Complete University Guide 2019).
