Archaeology

All full-time students starting this degree in 2018 will be given a scholarship of £1,500, to celebrate 50 years of archaeology at BU. You can take the degree as a BA or BSc according to whether you prefer an arts-based or scientific route, but whichever you choose you’ll gain the skills required to become a highly proficient practitioner, experienced in all forms of landscape survey, remote sensing, excavation and recording. You’ll learn through expert-led lectures, seminars and a range of fieldwork opportunities all over the UK, alongside our active team of archaeologists, and their commercial counterparts to gain essential transferable skills recognised by the Chartered Institute of Archaeologists. There’s also the opportunity to complete a potentially career-shaping five or 30-week placement in industry, and attend an archaeological field school at the end of year one.
