How do people learn? What gets in the way of learning? Where might people learn best? Can education make a difference to human rights? These are just some of the big questions that our contemporary, issues-based Education Studies programme will examine. This course has been carefully designed to give you the ‘bigger’ picture of education in a global society. It also aims to provide you with a comprehensive and exciting introduction to all aspects of the social world. Studying Sociology at BGU means you won’t ‘just’ be studying sociological theory – you’ll be exploring the ways theories help demystify phenomena like terrorism, nationalism, sexism, surveillance, globalisation and multiculturalism.
