This is the 4 year course which includes a Professional Placement Year. Film, Television and Digital Production at Bath Spa University is a practice-based course which places film and TV in its historical, contemporary and theoretical context. You will be taught by expert staff with industry experience, surrounded by excellent film and TV facilities whilst being supported by current industry practitioners. The programme features major events in collaboration with partners in the creative industries, especially those based in the South West of England. You’ll also have the opportunity for cross community collaboration with other students, for example working with the scriptwriting, music and drama students. - Gain the skills that successful film & television professionals need. - Develop practical and creative projects which highlight your technical and craft skills. - Work on individual and collaborative projects, developing your skills and creative ideas. - Develop your working life skills, such as decision making in complex and unpredictable contexts, working in groups, analysing data, and making use of technical and creative resources. - Participate in events such as TEDX Talks, Bath Film Festival, Edinburgh Film and Television Festival and many others. **More about the Professional Placement Year** A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where a student undertakes a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers & Employability Team.
