This is the 4 year course which includes a Professional Placement Year. The English Literature course at Bath Spa University aims to change the way you see the world by exploring new ideas and understanding how others’ see the world. You’ll study a wide range of historical periods from early modern drama to postmodern experimental poetry through exciting and challenging modules, which explore the ways writers respond to and reshape their worlds through writing. The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers & Employability Team.
