Educational Technology and Innovation (Professional Placement Year) - Bath Spa University

The ubiquitousness of technology in society means that we need to be able to effectively live, work, and thrive in the digital age. It's essential that we can manage change and integrate tech into the education sector - which is worth over $4 trillion to the global economy. This course is for you if you have an appetite for innovation, and for exploring both software and education processes, i.e. the way learning happens. You won't necessarily want to be in the classroom, but you will be interested in education. You may also be ready to embark on a second career. We'll focus on the future of education technology, and consider innovation in its broadest sense. We aim to be at the leading edge of educational practice and use of technologies that match the scale of the pedagogical problems society is trying to solve. **More about the Professional Placement Year** A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where a student undertakes a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers and Employability Team.
