Drawing (Professional Placement Year)

Drawing is relevant across wide-ranging industries and career paths, from commercial illustration, to technical drawing for architectural design, to engineering, science, law, sports, and medicine. BA (Hons) Drawing offers you the opportunity to explore the principles of drawing with a multidisciplinary approach, encompassing architecture, illustration, graphic design, technical drawing, animation, and skills development in two, three and four-dimensional space. You'll work towards an independent, critical and reflective project, supported through tutorials, workshops, lectures, study trips and, in the first year, weekly contact with your personal tutor. You'll be able to capitalise on our lecturers' wealth of expertise in the field, and their academic research in drawing. The region is rich with resources for drawing, helping ensure that we're well-placed to support you through the course and beyond, into employment or further study. **More about the Professional Placement Year** A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where a student undertakes a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers and Employability Team.
