Our degree course will teach you the skills you need to work as a Paramedic. You'll get practical experience by using our modern skills laboratories, and back it up with the theory you learn in the lecture theatre. Then you'll apply both theory and practice on your clinical placements. You’ll follow a three-year placement schedule which will consist of 30 weeks in an ambulance trust and 10 weeks out of ambulance placements. Students based in Chelmsford will be offered a placement with either the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust or the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Students based in Cambridge will be offered a placement with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. For more details please visit www.anglia.ac.uk/FMSplacements. When you graduate, you’ll be eligible to apply for registration as a Paramedic with the Health & Care Professions Council and work as a paramedic. You might choose to work in NHS ambulances or response cars, air ambulances or control rooms. You could also work in a range of out-of-hospital emergency care services. Anglia Ruskin University offers taster sessions to learn more about the Paramedic profession and the Paramedic Science course. For more details please visit www.anglia.ac.uk/TasterDay. This course is open to UK and EU applicants only, as the availability of work placements in the UK health service is limited.
