Studying Medical Science opens up career pathways from public health to clinical research; the food industry to the pharmaceutical sector. On this course, you’ll focus on the science that underpins modern medicine. You’ll understand how a healthy human body works, the effect of diseases and how normal function can be restored. You’ll gain the laboratory and other practical skills in our Level-2 SuperLab Complex. When you’ll graduate you’ll be in a strong position to pursue a career in the knowledge industries. You could find yourself in research and development, clinical trials, or on the way to being a Scientific Officer in the Civil Service. You can use your first degree to further your studies in a range of Masters of Science or choose a patient focussed discipline such as Physician Associate (two years Masters programme) or complete a PGCE and enter teaching. If you do not meet the entry requirements for this course, we offer an extended degree, run over 4 years: Medical Science (Extended). We welcome applications from international and EU students, and accept a range of international qualifications.
