Spanish/International Politics

In choosing to study the four year Bachelor of Arts joint honours degree in Spanish and International Politics at Aberystwyth University you’ll immerse yourself in two rigorous and challenging disciplines, combining both practical and theoretical elements. In Spanish you will not only be equipped with a high level of linguistic competence through the core language modules, but will also acquire a sound knowledge of culture in the Hispanic world. You will spend your third year of study abroad and, during this period, your academic study will be reinforced with practical experience. In your studies of International Politics you will study topics such as security, strategy, post-colonialism, regional politics, theory, ethics, international organisations and a range of contemporary challenges. You will also have the opportunity to take part in Parliamentary placements in Westminster and Cardiff, exchanges with universities around the world, and the annual and hugely popular crisis games. On successful completion of your degree you will have developed a valuable portfolio of specialist and transferable skills which are required and highly regarded by graduate employers.
