Spanish/Drama & Theatre Studies

In choosing to study the four year Bachelor of Arts joint honours degree in Spanish/Drama and Theatre Studies at Aberystwyth University you’ll immerse yourself in two rigorous and challenging disciplines, combining both practical and theoretical elements. In Spanish you will not only be equipped with a high level of linguistic competence through the core language modules, but will also acquire a sound knowledge of culture in the Hispanic world. You will spend your third year of study abroad and, during this period, your academic study will be reinforced with practical experience. In your Drama and Theatre studies you will look beyond historic and established forms to explore what drama, theatre and performance can be now and in the future. You will be engaged in a process of investigation and questioning that extends your critical and creative capacities and builds your practical skills, and you will encounter and explore a wide range of contemporary theatre practices, from scripted drama to site-specific performance and from Shakespeare to experiments in new media. On successful completion of your degree you will have developed a valuable portfolio of specialist and transferable skills which are required and highly regarded by graduate employers.
