On this course you will spend half your time studying Politics and the other half studying Human Geography. Politics at Aberystwyth seeks to understand the institutions and practice of politics, as well as the ideas and concepts that make up the big political issues of our time and shape our daily lives: ideas of justice, freedom, power, citizenship, democracy, and the morality of political decision-making. You will also have the opportunity to take part in Parliamentary placements in Westminster and Cardiff, exchanges with universities around the world, and the annual and hugely popular crisis games. In Human Geography you will have the opportunity to study sustainability, urbanisation, rural change, cultural and historical geography, and political studies, guided by world-leading academics, with field courses, seminars and workshops supporting your studies, giving you practical experience and the opportunity to develop your specialist and transferable skills. In choosing this three year Bachelor of Arts joint honours degree in Politics and Human Geography at Aberystwyth, you will join a vibrant and cosmopolitan learning environment. During the course of your studies you will develop a wealth of specialist knowledge and competencies and a set of additional skills that can be easily transferred into almost any graduate or professional employment situation.
