Psychology and Forensic Biology

The techniques involved in solving crimes are becoming ever more advanced, and analysing why they are committed in the first place is vitally important. Knowledge of both areas will make you a highly sought after graduate. It is unique in Scotland and is delivered by staff at the forefront of research in the field of Psychology and contemporary Forensic Science. Our staff have extensive experience relating to forensic issues, so are ideally placed to guide you through your studies. It is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), opening up eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC). This is the first step to becoming a chartered psychologist, and is a pre-requisite to many postgraduate courses. Our applied approach to psychology teaching and research has produced excellent scores in the National Student Survey, and resulted in Abertay being rated as the best modern university in Scotland for psychology research in the last Research Excellence Framework.
