Criminology asks important questions about crime and society. How do we define crime? What are the causes of crime? What makes someone commit a criminal act and, by knowing this, can we prevent future crimes? Abertay's BA (Hons) Criminology provides you with a strong foundation for a range of careers, including policing, the prison service, criminal justice policy and practice, probation and victim support. Learn from research-active staff with expertise in policing, ethnicity, migration, youth crime, media representations, protest and theory. In year 4, you can choose to undertake a community work placement. Some students have gone on to be offered full-time jobs with their work placement employers after graduation.
