The University is embarking on a programme of change with a number of key strategic priorities to deliver the 2026 Strategy. A key element of this work involves Inspiring Learning, with a heightened focus on developing the digital capability of staff and the use of their technology to enhance the student learning experience. The University is focusing on digital enhancements to enable delivery of the 2026 Strategy, this work is overseen through the Digital Strategy which emphasises Digital Capability and Digital Learning & Teaching. Working to the University’s 2026 Strategy, the Digital Strategy 2017-2020, and the TEL Quality Framework, the post holder will pro-actively support and develop staff digital capability and their use of technology to enhance the student learning experience.

Under the direction of the Educational Developer (TEL) and in consultation with key staff supporting delivery of the Digital Capability and Digital Learning & Teaching goal, the post holder will act as a change ambassador across the organisation. The post holder will support the work associated with the York St John Pedagogy and assist in the implementation of the objectives to improve and enhance digital capability and digital learning & teaching.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, experience in education in either a teaching or staff development role would be advantageous. You will have an understanding of TEL pedagogies, a broad knowledge of how TEL tools are used in a HE context and have experience of working collaboratively to provide support in this area through the provision of staff development, guidance and technical expertise.

You should be an excellent communicator and able to work using your own initiative to assist non-technical staff to use relevant learning technologies. You should have an enthusiastic and proactive approach and demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and adaptable, to both audience and priorities.
