Based at our beautiful campus in the centre of historic York, you will be working in small and fast paced HR and Staff Development Teams, challenged and stimulated in a community of HR and Staff Development professionals.

We have a number of professional HR vacancies, including a HR Casework and Policy Officer.

This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to bring together their operational HR experience and policy development skills to ensure a proactive, pragmatic and legally compliant advisory service to managers and staff within the University. The role holder will manage a broad range of casework relating to all employee relations matters, including health, conduct and capability, grievance and dignity at work, providing professional advice and support to managers, staff and panels, promoting the importance of timely resolution and proactive performance management

Informed by practice and up to date knowledge of employment law, the role-holder will lead on the review of HR Policies and Procedures, ensuring that they are in line with best practice and legislative requirements.

Significant experience of working in HR, providing professional advice and support to managers is essential alongside a strong knowledge of current UK employment legislation and case law.
