PhD programme: Clinical and Experimental Biomedical Sciences

Duration: 36 months
The PhD course aims at acquiring theoretical backgrounds and methodological/practical knowledges for the PhD students in various research fields of clinical and experimental biomedical sciences in order to train them for future academic or research careers in public or private Institutions. The PhD students will be stimulated to collaborate in interdisciplinary studies with colleagues from the same and other disciplines and to refine their scientific training at other research Institutions in Italy and abroad.
Applications are invited in one of the following research topics:
1. The study of epidemiology, genetics and pathophysiology of insulin resistance and related metabolic disorders;
2. The study of epidemiology, genetics and pathophysiology of chronic degenerative and neoplastic diseases;
3. The study of molecular mechanisms and pathophysiological phenomena that link inflammation to chronic degenerative/endocrine/neoplastic diseases;
4. The study of the stem cells in regenerative medicine and in immuno-regulatory and antitumor cellular therapy.
