Closing Date:   Monday 11 July 2022

We are seeking an individual with expertise within the digital technologies and transformation fields to join our Board of Governors.

The Board of Governors plays a focal role in the strategic development and overall performance of the University of Lincoln.  It is an exciting period to join the Board, as the University will shortly launch its Strategic Plan 2022-27: Transforming Lives and Communities.

Membership of the Board offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals to play a key part in enhancing the University’s success and reputation regionally, nationally and internationally.  It also provides personal development and networking opportunities across a broad range of sectors and fields.

The Board usually meets six times a year, with one strategic away day, which is combined with one of the formal meetings. Members are expected to give priority to attendance, and also to attend training and development days. Members of the Board will also have the opportunity to join and therefore support the work of the Board’s various sub-committees. Governors are not paid, but expenses are reimbursed.

A detailed Role Descriptor can be found at the bottom of this vacancy.

Interested individuals should e-mail a covering letter outlining how they meet the role criteria and a copy of their CV to governors@lincoln.ac.uk on or before 10am on Monday 11 July 2022. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held by the end of July 2022.

The University of Lincoln is an increasingly diverse community of students and staff, and it seeks to reflect that in its Board of Governors. Applications are welcome from individuals of any race, sex, disability, religion, belief, age, or sexual orientation. As part of our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, applications are particularly welcome from individuals from under-represented groups on our Board; black, Asian and minority ethnic individuals, LGBTQ+ and disabled candidates.

Please contact Aaron Smith, Deputy University Secretary and Head of Governance at the University of Lincoln via governors@lincoln.ac.uk to arrange an informal conversation about this opportunity.

Other individuals with an interest in joining the Board of Governors, who may offer the University something exceptional and different, are still encouraged to get in touch with us.
