The student residential experience was recognised in 2015 as a critical element of student life at the University of Lincoln and the University embarked on a transformational change programme, moving from 1000 directly controlled Purpose Built Student Accommodation bed spaces to circa 2700 currently, with construction ongoing to increase beds to 4400+ by 2022. Due to this growth we are now recruiting to a number of crucial operational roles.
We are looking to appoint an Accommodation Officer. Reporting to the Accommodation Manager you will be responsible for the efficient running of an operations and technician team in order to ensure that the needs of student residents, conference delegates and guests are fully met. The postholder will also be responsible for carrying out apartment inspections, dealing with housing management issues as they arise and ensuring that rooms are clean and ready for occupation. The role requires close liaison with the accommodation technicians and all other external contractors. The role covers all University owned and managed student accommodation. You will be responsible for supervising an accommodation assistant within the current structure.
You will have worked in a range of environments: This could include housing management/facilities management/hotel and conference management both in the public and private sector. Ideally you will have a strong record of providing excellent customer services. You will have some supervisory experience including managing a team, creation of risk assessments, an understanding of Health and Safety requirements and processes, experience in managing local budgets and competent IT skills. You must possess a full, clean driving licence. This role may require a full DBS check. The nature of the work may require some duties to be provided in the evenings and/or weekends.
You must demonstrate a genuine commitment towards continual service improvement and devising innovative solutions, ideally focused around the customer experience. You will possess strong organisational and problem-solving skills and can work pro-actively, using a high level of initiative. You will be an effective team member with strong IT skills and have the ability to work under pressure to tight timescales.
