The School of Psychology at the University of Lincoln seeks a Senior Technician to support research and teaching in the School of Psychology. The post holder will provide leadership for 3 technician staff, liaise with University central ICT services, estates, other professional services and academic staff.
The technical team provides day to day support for use of specialised laboratory equipment including eye trackers, electrophysiological recording systems (EEG) and transcranial doppler imaging. Other research in the school uses of online questionnaire based systems (e.g. QUALTRICS), video and audio recording systems. Software used in Psychology includes PsychoPy, ePrime, SPSS, R and Matlab.
Experience of providing technical support within a similar environment is important, as is a willingness to provide line management and mentoring to technical support staff, some of whom also pursue post-graduate research. The School moved into a purpose built building in 2017. Facilities now include "wet-lab" facilities for biopsychological research (e.g. genotyping, hormonal analysis) and so experience in this area would be desirable. Psychology has in-house electrical and mechanical workshop facilities and experience of using or managing similar facilities would also be desirable.
Please contact either the Head of School Dr Kirsty Miller (kmiller@lincoln.ac.uk) or the Academic Lab Director Dr Tessa Flack (tflack@lincoln.ac.uk) for further information.
This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2.
