University of Kurdistan Hewlêr (UKH) Campus Location
The Kurdistan region of Iraq (KRI) has a population of 5.2 million and increasing with three governorates: Erbil, Slemani, and Duhok. The University of Kurdistan Hewler (UKH) is situated in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Regional Government and a city known in Kurdish as Hewler.
Tourism & Business: Foreign visitors are warmly welcomed for tourism and business activities throughout the Region. The Kurdistan Region has an international airport in Erbil and in other cities as well, with direct flights to and from Europe and the Middle East.
Regional Security: With the cooperation and support of the international community, the Kurdistan Region’s security forces have kept the area safe and stable. In 2018, Erbil was ranked among the top five safest cities in the world according to data collected from Numbeo. Government: Iraq’s Constitution recognizes the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Kurdistan Parliament as the region’s formal institutions. According to the Kurdistan Region’s laws as enacted by the democratically elected Kurdistan Parliament, the Kurdistan Regional Government exercises executive power for the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The Kurdistan Regional Government is led by His Excellency Mr. Nechirvan Barzani.
