China (Shanghai, Beijing and Greenwich Maritime)

The Centre for Research and Enterprise in Language (CREL) within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, at the University of Greenwich, is seeking to appoint a Link Tutor for 12 weeks during the summer.

We offer a range of pre-sessional English (PSE) courses for international students and all courses in the UK are accredited by the British Council. We also deliver 9 and 13 week courses in China (Shanghai and Beijing). Students start the pre-sessional course overseas and complete the final 5 weeks in the UK. The Link Tutor would be responsible for quality assuring our pre-sessional English provision in China, working with the China Representative Office Academic Manager and teaching teams in Shanghai and Beijing, supporting and ensuring implementation of the course content. You would also need to liaise closely with the Academic Managers for English in the UK and a team of dedicated administrators.

It will be necessary to travel between sites and to be based in China for a total of 10 weeks, leaving the week beginning 27 May 2019 and returning to the UK the week beginning 5 August 2019. You would be based at the Greenwich Maritime site for the remaining two weeks of the contract.

It is important to meet deadlines within demanding timescales, ensuring that the courses are delivered in line with University regulations and UKVI requirements. Sound experience of delivering pre-sessional English courses is required and you would need to be TEFLQ.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role requires a positively minded team worker who can cope well under pressure.
