The University is seeking to recruit a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Games Technology who wish to embark on an academic career conducting quality research and lecturing on postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. Candidates will have a strong background that would complement our existing activities in the field of Games Technology. We are particularly interested in applicants with a background in Games Artificial Intelligence and/or Virtual Reality. For applicants with a Games AI background, knowledge of generic AI technology including Machine Learning would be an advantage.
The successful candidates will work closely with departmental academic teams and will be expected to contribute to existing teaching and research. These posts will be allocated to one of the University career pathways: Teaching and Scholarship, Research, or Enterprise. For the Research pathway, the role will include a strong emphasis on, and support for, research and enterprise activity, including participation in projects jointly launched by other members of the Department and Faculty. Candidates will be expected to join one of our existing research teams relevant to their specialism.
You will be able to demonstrate a strong teaching and research profile, and a history of successful grant applications would be desirable (Senior Lecturer). For early career researchers, the potential to produce these outcomes would be sufficient. You will have a good first degree (1st or 2:1) in a relevant subject (computer science, mathematics or engineering), together with a PhD.
