Recruiting for & Co-Organizing Short-Term Training Programs

With the goal to go international and prepare students for being global citizens, TDTU has always been a well-favored university among international students for studying, internship and cultural exchange. In recent years, TDTU has attracted more than 2,000 foreign students from 18 countries (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mongolia, South Korea, Myanmar, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Denmark, Belgium, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Hungary, Russia, and the USA) to study and take part in exchange activities ranging from 1 week to one semester at its campuses.

In order to equip students with the abilities to adapt and gain success in every working environment, TDTU is delighted to welcome international universities and students to co-organize and attend our short-term training programs in Vietnam, which include:

1. Academic exchange program (1-2 semesters): TDTU hosts international exchange students for one semester or one school year. Those who want to join this program can register for one or more courses (taught in English) related to their fields of study at TDTU. Once students complete their exchange semester(s), all credits earned will be transferred to their home universities. It is a great chance for students to experience a new learning environment, as well as to widen their professional and cultural knowledge about Vietnam and its people.

• Length of study: 1 semester to 1 school year;
• Content: 
• Study at one of the TDTU campuses, mainly in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
• Participate in extra-curricular activities
• Attend cultural exchange and professional development activities,
• Interact with TDTU students through daily activities.

2. Language and culture program: 

1-4 week program for those interested in Vietnamese language and culture.

• Targeted participants: international students interested in learning Vietnamese and Vietnamese culture or taking certain courses in Vietnamese.
• Content:
• Learn Vietnamese language and culture
• Participate in volunteer and cultural exchange activities.
• Interact with TDTU students through daily activities and excursions

3. Summer camp program: 

This is an annual 3-week program organized at TDTU for those interested in Southeast Asian culture in general and Vietnamese culture in particular. Besides classes on Vietnamese culture, students will take part in cultural exchange activities and field trips to learn more about Vietnam and the Vietnamese people, which leads to a better understanding about Southeast Asia.

• Length of program: 3 weeks
• Content: students will join in the following activities:
• Learning about Vietnamese language, culture and economy.
• Joining cultural and intellectual excursions (Mekong Delta, Nha Trang, Cu Chi Tunnel, & Ho Chi Minh City tours) to learn more about the culture and people in Southeast Asia
• Participating as volunteers in cultural exchange activities. 
• Interacting with TDTU and other international students through daily activities when living in the dorm at TDTU.

4. International student internship program: TDTU offers scholarships for students from all different countries and for every major in our campuses within this internship program. These scholarships include accommodation fees, travelling fees and living expenses. Excellent students will be awarded with a one-way or roundtrip plane ticket based on their academic performance.

5. Customized programs: based on the agreement with partner universities, TDTU will design special programs for those students.

• Targeted participant: All international students (at least 15 students)
• Content:
• Length of study: 2-12 weeks (upon request);
• Content: upon request

6. Cultural exchange programs: These programs bring about opportunities for meeting and exchanging between Vietnamese students and international students who come from different cultures.  They also equip students with necessary skills for becoming global citizens in the future. Implemented programs include the Multi-Cultural Happiness project with Soonchunhyang (South Korea), a cultural exchange program with Cornell University (USA), and many more.

7. International volunteer program: Students will take part in such volunteer activities as teaching children, building houses and bridges for the poor, helping the elderly, etc. Excitingly, participants will stay with local families and experience a different lifestyle with our local people. The program promises to create unforgettable memories for participants.
