Curriculum Officer (at the rank of Senior Research Assistant) in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201801053) (to commence on September 1, 2018 for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Education or related disciplines with at least 3 years' post-qualification work experience.​ Prior experience working at schools with ethnic minority students or equivalent is a must. Prior teacher training experience is an advantage. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese), good interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to coordinate curriculum development and teacher training activities. Preference will be given to those who have prior Chinese language curriculum development experience and are familiar with communicative language teaching approaches, such as task-based language teaching.

The appointee will work for a curriculum development and research project that examines the effect of social media use on ethnic minority students' Chinese language learning. He/She will be in charge of the curriculum development and implementation work, including, developing Chinese language curriculum, working closely with schools to monitor the implementation of the curriculum and make adjustments to the curriculum being used; teacher training and support on the curriculum and organizing workshops to disseminate the derivatives from the project.
