Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry, to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or equivalent. They should be experienced in organic and inorganic synthesis, transition metal catalyzed organic transformation reactions, and detection of the reactive intermediates involved in the catalytic reactions. Applicants should also have fluency in written and spoken English, a strong sense of responsibility, good organizational skills, the ability to work independently and be self-motivated. The appointee will be engaged in the preparation of chiral transition metal catalysts, study of their catalytic activity towards asymmetric Diels-Alder reactions, and the spectroscopic characterization of the reactive intermediates under the supervision of Professor Chi-Ming Che.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
