Applications are invited for appointments as Non-Tenure Track Clinical Professor of Practice/Clinical Associate Professor of Practice/Clinical Assistant Professor of Practice (several posts) in the Emergency Medicine Unit, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.  Fractional appointments may be considered for suitable candidates.

Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and with a higher professional qualification of Specialty Fellowship of the relevant Hong Kong colleges under the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or equivalent.  They should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, and be able to contribute to the enhancement and development of courses for the Faculty in the broad spectrum of medical and health sciences education.  They should also have proven capacity and potential in performing research in their respective field. Direct communication with patients is required and the languages employed are English, Cantonese and Putonghua.  The appointees will teach, organize and develop undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; conduct high-quality scholarly research; provide clinical services and training at the University’s affiliate teaching hospitals; and contribute to administrative duties in the Unit, Faculty and University.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidates.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
