Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 523730), to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or related disciplines, with post-doctoral research experience. They should have strong expertise in non-communicable diseases research, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Previous experience with longitudinal cohort studies is required. An excellent record of publications and/or grants, research experience in genomics/metabolomics, and track record in successful externally competitive grant applications and knowledge on genetic analyses (e.g. Mendelian randomization) would be advantages.

The appointee will conduct epidemiological research with a focus on different domains of omics (e.g. metabolomics, and microbiome) relevant to non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and respiratory diseases.   He/She will develop research programmes independently; write scientific publications, grant proposals and reports; supervise junior research staff and students; and assist in administrative, operational and other duties as assigned.
