Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 523192)

The Department of Geography at the University of Hong Kong invites applications for appointment as Assistant Lecturer, to commence on January 1, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in geographic information system (GIS) and related fields, such as GIS Workshop (including GIS programming) and Advanced GIS (including transportation planning). The candidate will also be required to conduct research on geospatial data science and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Geography or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in teaching and research in GIS and geospatial data science. Applicants should also have a strong record of publications and presentations in relevant fields.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on a one-year temporary basis, renewable on a yearly basis for another four years subject to satisfactory performance.
