Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor/Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemistry (Ref.: 516153), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or other relevant disciplines. Having an excellent publication track record and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in conducting and managing scientific research as well as demonstrated expertise in research field relevant to the platform project mentioned below are required. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and external parties including academics and industrial society. Those with less experience may be considered for the appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow.
The appointees will participate in a 3-year large-scale multidisciplinary research project supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission, which aims to develop optoelectronic devices for practical use. They will also help to design novel light-emitting devices and carry out device optimization work. The experimental results would be used for developing a big data/machine learning/scientific computing platform for discovery of next-generation energy materials and/or novel devices on computers or in silico. Working off-campus may be required.
