At TU Dresden, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Communication Technology, the Chair of Radio Frequency and Photonics Engineering offers a position as 

Research Associate 
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated 
according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting at the next possible date, limited until 30.06.2022 with the option for extension subject to resources being available. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e. g. PhD).

Tasks: The researcher fulfills the tasks required to achieve the objectives of a DFG project to generate frequency combs in CMOS compatible integrated photonic platforms. It deals with the design, simulation, and measurement of photonic devices for optical communications and computing. Other than the tasks specified in the project, close collaboration with the collaborators of the group is required. Presentation of the results and preparing the reports are part of the responsibilities of the project. 

Requirements: university degree in Electrical Engineering. Being familiar with MATLAB/Python and/or C/C++ programming languages is necessary. We are looking for a highly motivated, independent researcher with good teamwork ability. Basic knowledge in Optical communications, IC design, semiconductor technologies, and electromagnetic simulation is a plus.
