At TU Dresden the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD), an institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB) is looking to fill the project position of a

Research Associate / Postdoc
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

from 01.03.2019 until 31.12.2019. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (based on ยง 2 (2) WissZeitVG).

The CRTD is among the world-leading RegMed centers combining fundamental research and clinical application.

The CRTD is aiming to research the self-healing potential of the body and to develop completely new regenerative therapies for so far incurable diseases. The research focuses on hematology and immunology, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, bone and cartilage replacements as well as cardiovascular diseases.

Tasks: working on the research project; differentiation of RPE cells; development and establishment of an automatic transfer from RPE cells to 384-well screening plates; creation of Standard Operating Procedures; execution of substance screenings, data analysis; participation in orthogonal assays for retinal diseases and toxicity studies; generation and validation of Mertk-/-cells as well as their establishment in RPE differentiation

Requirements: university degree with PhD in biology with broad knowledge in regenerative and developmental biology, biochemistry, analytics, live-imaging, histology, cell culture, molecular techniques and microscopy; English language skills are essential; disposition for weekend and holiday work.

You are assertive and communicative, have high organisational skills and are very team-oriented. You are highly motivated to take on new tasks and seek for new challenges. You think analytically and are open for new ideas. Your personality is completed by your confident appearance, the ability to work goal-oriented and systematically and to be convincing in personal encounters. Work experience in a similar environment is desired.
