At TU Dresden, Faculty of Mathematics, Institute of Algebra, the Chair of Algebra invites applications for two

Research Associates / PhD Positions
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

which entail 50 % of the fulltime weekly hours, starting as soon as possible and limited until 31.10.2021. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The positions offer the chance to obtaining further academic qualification (e.g. PhD thesis).

Tasks: Research on the project "Definability and decidability in global and local fields". 

Requirements: university degree in mathematics with excellent grades, basic knowledge in model theory and working knowledge in algebra or number theory, for example decidability in number theory or model theory of valued fields, good English skills.
