We have an exciting opportunity for a professional student services leader to join our Student and Library Services team as Head of Student Support and Wellbeing at Northumbria University.

About the role

As Head of Student Support and Wellbeing you will have responsibility for the development and leadership of effective strategy and professional practice aligned with the University Strategy to deliver an outstanding student experience. The role is part of a wider professional service team with a shared professional focus on student access to services embedded with a shared Student Support Model extending to shared service spaces, customer services and technologies designed around current and future student needs.

A member of the Student and Library Services Leadership Team, and reporting to the Director of Student and Library Services, you will work in partnership with a team of professional service leads. You will engage fully with stakeholders across the University to leverage benefits for students of seamless self-service approaches that will permit timely and effective access to professional support and higher level professional engagements as 
required. 

We are looking for a dynamic professional able to demonstrate a strong track record in leading professional services in innovative ways that are responsive to rapid changes in student demand and expectations now and for the future. Your proven professional practice will evidence successful service leadership and strategic impact around the student services portfolio including student welfare, funding, immigration, mental health and inclusion.

About Student and Library Services

Student and Library Services is Northumbria’s student-facing service, delivering a comprehensive and customer service excellent range of professional support including Ask4Help, Careers and Employment, Student Progress, Student Support and Wellbeing, and the University Library. Student and Library Services provide face to face support in Student Central – an exciting new campus development – and online via the University’s new student portal and customer-relationship management system. Ask4Help are the University’s student-facing single point of contact for access to all services.
