Description

The Division of Arts and Humanities at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for Writing Program Adjunct Instructor positions at all levels. Adjunct Instructors support NYU Abu Dhabi's educational mission by assisting faculty with courses in all disciplines. Adjunct Instructors lead discussion sections, hold review sessions, provide assistance with the preparation, development, and assessment of courses, and take part in departmental activities. Participation in professional development opportunities is expected and supported.

Adjunct Instructors in the NYUAD Writing Program play an integral role in the development of students’ written and oral expression throughout the four years of their NYUAD education—from the first-year experience to the Capstone project. As academic support staff, they work as course assistants for faculty in the First Year Writing Seminars, where they give individualized tutorials and workshops; in addition, they serve as writing and/or speech consultants in the Writing Center. Furthermore, Instructors may provide writing support in secondary academic assignments aligned with the mission of writing across the curriculum and support Writing Program and Writing Center initiatives (such as special workshops, and curricular or extracurricular events). They may also help the Writing Program Directors with assessment and course placement. Instructors are expected to participate in ongoing professional development through participation in pedagogy workshops throughout the year.
