90 and beyond

National Cheng Kung University is on the verge of marking the 90th anniversary of its founding. During the course of the university’s nine decades of contributions to society, NCKU has always sought to find solutions and participate in their implementation. As we look towards the future, we understand that while we cannot know what will come to pass, we will always endeavor to benefit those around us.

NCKU was established upon a solid foundation of rigorous education, impactful research, diverse international links, and strong industry connections. We truly believe that everyone at NCKU can firmly assert our incomparable position and value among the global community. Furthermore, informed by ethical concerns, we have developed a knowledge culture and pursue innovative technologies in order to meet the needs of the disadvantaged and promote social improvement. We are strongly rooted and connected to our local city and country, and we have also built extensive networks with global communities as we tackle future challenges together.

As we embark on the path towards future discoveries, we sincerely invite talents from all fields to join us. In the “NCKU: 90 and beyond” initiative, we are recruiting 90 scholars from postdoctoral researchers to professors with doctoral degrees. Experience is not required for new colleagues; the most important qualification is a passion for research and teaching.

We are recruiting in these fields:

Liberal Arts, Science, Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Social Science, Bioscience & Biotechnology, Medicine, Planning & Design, Computing.

Successful candidates will

  • Receive start-up research grants of up to US$ 10,000 annually
  • Enjoy attractive remuneration package and other benefits such as assistance with;
  • Accommodation – partially subsided up to US$ 8,000 U.S. per year
  • Airfare subsidy for relocation - economy class round-trip ticket within one year
  • Relocation grant - partially subsided up to US$ 2,000

About National Cheng Kung University

National Cheng Kung University has its base in the historic city of Tainan, in Taiwan. It is a university with 22,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students in engineering, management, liberal arts, sciences, medicine, social science, electrical engineering and computer science, planning and design, and bioscience and biotechnology.

Among these, NCKU’s field-weight citation impact rankings in engineering, medicine, and biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology far exceeded the global average. Furthermore, the rate of NCKU papers among the top 10 percent most highly cited papers has grown over the past three years, expanding from 10.9 percent in 2014 to 14.1 percent in 2016.
