The Director of the St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University announce a selection procedure for the position of Head of the Department (m/f) for the following department:

Department of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation

Department of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation is a medical, educational and research facility of St. Anne's University Hospital and the Medical Faculty of MU. It provides highly specialized care in rehabilitation and physical medicine for a wide range of patients after injuries, major joint surgeries, patients with neurological problems including conditions after neurosurgical operations. The department also provides comprehensive diagnosis and therapy of musculoskeletal disorders using the latest therapeutic procedures and technologies.

The Department Head position candidate must be a respected rehabilitation and physical medicine professional with experience of managing a work team and scientific work in the given field and experience of education at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The Head of the Department will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate student education, postgraduate studies, publications and coordination of the scientific research activities. During the selection process, the candidate for the Head will present his/her vision for fulfilling the above.

The prerequisites for the advertised position are:

  • University degree in general medicine or equivalent education obtained abroad;
  • competence for the independent practice of the medical profession in the relevant field according to § 5 of Act No. 95/2004 Coll;
  • academic degree of PhD or scientific rank of CSc.;
  • habilitation within the meaning of the Higher Education Act as amended or the assumption of its imminent attainment (within 1-3 years);
  • personal and professional prerequisites for managing the medical and academic team of the department;
  • teaching experience and readiness to guarantee the professional subjects taught in the workplace;
  • scientific and publishing activities in the field;
  • moral and civic integrity;
  • fulfilment of the prerequisites according to Act No. 451/1991 Coll. (the so-called Lustration Act); persons born after 1 December 1971 and foreign applicants do not have to provide proof.
