We are seeking to appointment someone to work on LoCoMoTE (Low Cost Morphable Teleoperated Endoscope for Gastric Intestinal Tract Screening) project.

The project aims to solve the unmet needs of China's endoscopic gastrointestinal (GI) screening due to its large, aging population, insufficient infrastructure and high incidence of GI cancers. The project partners include Tianjin University and Tianjin Medical University General Hospital.

The main responsibilities of this role include: kinematics and mechatronics design for flexible medical instruments, evaluation and testing the system through experiments. The person is also required to liaise with Chinese partners to facilitate experiments to be carried out in China. Multiple trips to China may be required. Good communication skill are desirable. The candidate will also manage and be responsible for implementing a Quality Management System. This will focus on a medical device which has been developed as part of the LoCoMoTE project.
