Research Associate

The post-doctoral researcher appointed to work on this project at KCL will be working on a BHF funded project investigating the mechanisms underlying the anti-inflammatory and tissue repair activity of mesenchymal stromal cells in myocardial infarction. The project will utilise both in vitro and in vivo protocols. The successful candidate will join a group of researchers within the Ellison-Hughes and the Dazzi labs.

The applicant should have a relevant degree and PhD, and previous experience of working in a research environment. They will be highly motivated, ability to meet deadlines and show initiative, and able to work independently and part of a team. They will have an interest in stem cell, immunology and cardiovascular research. They will have experience and skills in cell culture, phenotyping of cells by flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy analysis. It is desirable to have expertise in in vivo models, specifically microsurgery (myocardial infarction model) and echocardiography.

This post will be offered on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2022.

This is a full time post.

The selection process will include a panel interview.

Grade and Salary : Grade 6, £ 37,412 - £ 40,568 per annum, inclusive of £3,223per annum London Allowance.
