Professor / Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Political, Social, or Moral Psychology

Duke Kunshan University (DKU) invites applications to a faculty position in political, social, or moral psychology, beginning in the academic year 2021-2022. We seek candidates who study how decision-making behavior is influenced by institutions, group memberships and identity, and cultural and societal norms and attitudes. We encourage especially applications from scholars working on comparative or cross-cultural psychology. Competitive candidates will be able to teach courses on cross-cultural notions of trust, the ethics of nudging, and political psychology. Candidates with methodological background in social network analysis, survey experiments, and text-as-data analysis are encouraged to apply, and we welcome especially candidates with geographical or cultural expertise in East Asia, Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. The successful candidate will be able to teach in DKU’s interdisciplinary majors in Ethics and Leadership and in Behavioral Science. This position is open with regard to rank including tenured, tenure track and non-tenure track. Mid-career and senior faculty are especially encouraged to apply.

The DKU campus is 37 miles west of Shanghai in Kunshan, and is connected to Shanghai via an 18-minute high-speed train. Phase 2 of the LEED certified campus is already under construction, and will provide expanded access to superior research facilities. In order to meet Chinese visa requirements, prior to the position start date international (non-Chinese) candidates must have worked full-time (work experience obtained while studying full-time is not considered as full-time work experience) for at least two years in a relevant area (including post-doctoral work) after receiving their Bachelor’s degree, or begin their appointment at DKU within 12 months of obtaining their master’s degree/Ph.D and without having full-time work experience between graduation date on master’s degree diploma/Ph.D diploma and position start date.
