Faculty / Directorate

The School of Computer Science and Informatics is based within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media. It offers a wide range of courses to other undergraduates and postgraduates in line with emergent demand and the nature of these fast-moving, competitive disciplines. We have a solid track record of ground-breaking research and in REF2014, nearly 60% of the School's research was considered to be world leading or internationally excellent. As a subject, Computer Science is ranked 309/500 in the Shanghai Ranking of Universities. Alongside the university as a whole, we have huge ambitions for the future in terms of our offering to students and the quality and scale of our research.

Ideal Candidate 

The successful candidate will contribute the School's taught provision in Digital Forensics, Cyber Threat Intelligence Incident Response or Penetration Testing, in particular in relation to Industrial Control Systems. The individual is expected to be a member of the Cyber Technology Institute (CTI) (www.dmu.ac.uk/cybertech) and contribute actively to its Airbus Centre of Excellence in SCADA Cyber Security and Forensics Research and its wider research and innovation agenda, including industry collaboration. The CTI is supported by Airbus, BT, Deloitte, and Rolls-Royce through its industry advisory board . The successful candidates are expected to actively contribute to the CTI's professional development programme, its commercial offerings and its international outreach activities as well as contribute to the development of our undergraduate taught and apprenticeship programmes.
