Faculty / Directorate

The School of Computer Science and Informatics is based within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media. It offers a wide range of courses to other undergraduates and postgraduates in line with emergent demand and the nature of these fast-moving, competitive disciplines. We have a solid track record of ground-breaking research and in REF2014, nearly 60% of the School's research was considered to be world leading or internationally excellent. As a subject, Computer Science is ranked 309/500 in the Shanghai Ranking of Universities. Alongside the university as a whole, we have huge ambitions for the future in terms of our offering to students and the quality and scale of our research.

Please note: the salary showing is for Grade H, however, the post is for Grade H/I with a salary range of £50,132 - £61,618 per annum

Ideal Candidate 

The successful candidate will manage a team of 18 academic staff in the
Information Systems (previously Business Computing) subject area and work together with Head of School and other Associate Professors to develop and deliver the school's strategy. The Associate Professor will play a key role in the strategic development of the curriculum together with relevant Programme Leaders and the planning of its delivery in conjunction with the other subject areas in the school. 

The ideal candidate will be research active in an area of research aligned to Information Systems and in particular with relevance to the work of the CCSR. 

They will be able to demonstrate their visibility and impact with an international profile, contributing actively to the faculty and the university's research culture through the production of high quality publications, research grant applications, external income generation and other relevant activities.
