Reader/Professor – Computer Science

Competitive Salary (minimum of £64,893 per annum inclusive of London Allowance)

Brunel University London has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years through a series of new programme openings, expansion of our current offering, ground-breaking industry and international partnerships and moves into new international markets. We have more exciting plans ahead, and we are now seeking a number of Readers and Professors to join us on our journey.

We are a rich and diverse community, with a high proportion of students from an underprivileged background who go on to great things as entrepreneurs, industry leaders and drivers of social change. We also attract high numbers of international students and staff, and are one of the UK’s most international universities as a result.

We’re looking for talented, ambitious individuals who share our dual commitment to delivering both an exceptional student experience and world changing research that addresses some of the society’s greatest challenges. We’re particularly keen to hear from people who value our unique approach to applied learning and research; who can bridge the gap between education, research and industry to deliver the most useful thinking, and the most employable graduates.

Expressions of interest are invited to work within the department of Computer Science. Our computing courses have evolved to meet the needs of the industry worldwide, and they focus on trends like big data and artificial intelligence to ensure our students get the most up to date education. Research in Computer Science at Brunel is internationally recognised, ranked 5th in the UK in the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities and 1st in the UK for H-index (source NTU 2018). We have particular strengths in research into computing methodologies (Intelligent data analysis, artificial intelligence, simulation and modelling), software engineering, human centred computing (HCI and interactive multimedia systems) and digital economy (including IOT, trust, privacy and cyber security). Our research delivers creative computing solutions to industrial and societal challenges, with applications including healthcare, overseas development, education, ecology, finance and manufacturing.

If you are interested in working at Brunel University London please complete our short pre-application form and upload a CV and letter of suitability.
