Funded in part by Research England, the Grow MedTech partnership brings together six northern universities to develop and commercialise medical technologies.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a challenging and multi-disciplinary programme. Grow Medtech will provide a team of Technology Innovation Managers across participating universities who will identify promising medtech opportunities emerging from the consortium and its networks, match these with appropriate academic capability, company partners and other collaborators and provide the support and management to de-risk these technologies ready for commercial investment.
Based at Sheffield Hallam University, you will work closely with our academics, the NHS, medtech companies and the team of Technology Innovation Managers across the partnership to enable exciting med-tech opportunities progress to the commercial market. These opportunities are expected to arise from the areas of key medical technology which include implantable devices, imaging and diagnostics, rehabilitation and assistive technology, surgical and medical equipment, wound-care and infection control, digital health, ICT and E-health and evaluative and enabling technologies. In addition, the upcoming opening of the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam and the development of the Health Innovation Park will contribute to the work of the Grow MedTech partnership and enhance its reputation nationally and globally.
You will have a proven track record of initiating and converting cutting edge Research and Development (R&D) into successful new product opportunities in healthcare technologies or related fields and have experience in attracting stakeholders to new ideas and securing grant and investment funding culminating in spin out, licensing or other commercial opportunities.
