We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher or suitably qualified engineer to conduct research on the capital cost and build time of nuclear fission generation systems and, where necessary, their fuel cycle plants.

These factors, together with financing costs, are the largest contributor to the Lifetime Cost of Electricity (LCOE) and are thus crucial to the economics and competitiveness of nuclear power.

The study will aim to inform the Generic Feasibility Assessment which has currently being further developed as a methodology for the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy by the Nuclear Industry Research Advisory Board.

Based in the Alliance Manchester Business School, the project will be co-supervised by Professor Sydney Howell and Professor Gregg Butler.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments are made on merit.
