Lecturer Practitioner, Mental Health Nursing
The Department of Family Care & mental health is seeking an experienced mental health nurse to contribute to our metal health nursing programmes. The post-holder will be a key member of our mental health nursing programme team delivering innovative teaching, supporting learning and assessment and providing pastoral care. The post holder will also play a key role in supporting our students in developing their mental health nursing skills, working with our partners to enhance and develop mental health placements/practice learning and placement capacity.
You will ideally have experience of working in higher education but this post is also an ideal first post for experienced mental health nurses who are keen to develop their role as nurse educators, so we would particularly welcome applications from mental health nurses who have experience of supporting, mentoring and assessing learners.
The Department of Family Care & Mental Health is a multi-professional department offering programmes that lead to registration in nursing, midwifery, health visiting/school nursing and speech and language therapy. We also have a wide portfolio of post qualifying provision including the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and the Faculty’s PhD in Health & Social Care programme. Successful applicants will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA fellowship, as well as contribute to department based research and enterprise activities.
